I don’t feel like crap anymore!

What a difference a year makes! I went from feeling like crap to feeling…good?! Dare I say hopeful even!?

But this isn’t about me. It’s about us. The work we did together helped power some incredible victories:

  • Abigail Spanberger flipped the Virginia governor’s seat by more than 15 points — becoming the first woman ever to lead the commonwealth.
  • Mikie Sherrill crushed a Trump-endorsed MAGA sycophant by a landslide.

Did your donations single-handedly clinch these victories? Who’s to say!? Okay I’m saying: They sure didn’t hurt.

Democrats swept every single major race nationwide. We gave Trump and his morally bankrupt enablers the electoral equivalent of a giant middle finger and we gave Democrats the jolt of energy we need to win big in 2026.

And that’s not all! Last night:

  • Every single county in Virginia shifted blue — and Democrats substantially increased majority in the House of Delegates 
  • Mississippi voters broke the GOP’s State Senate supermajority
  • Democrats held all three Pennsylvania Supreme Court seats
  • Georgia flipped both Public Service Commissioner races for the first time in 20 years
  • Kansas Republicans dropped their redistricting schemes
  • And J.D. Vance’s half-brother lost the mayoral race in Cincinnati (I’m not saying that one’s a bellwether, but it’s satisfying!)

So yeah, I’m feeling pretty good! But you know what? We still have a ton of work to do if we’re going to continue feeling this way after the midterms next year. 

I believe in our party and what we represent. And so do you. That’s why you opened this email.

I hope you can help us help Democrats who will flip the House, defend the Senate, and win up and down the ballot.

Somehow, it’s been 20 years since I started Midwest Values PAC to help Democrats win elections — from progressive organizations to state legislatures to Congress to the White House — who share the values I grew up with in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.
